Lamentillo releases Tagalog Edition of Night Owl

March 6, 2023

The Tagalog Edition of Night Owl: A Nationbuilder’s Manual is now available, according to its author, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary and former Build, Build, Build committee chair Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo.

“The Tagalog edition of Night Owl is our way of reaching out to more Filipinos, because through this book, we hope more citizens will understand the need for these infrastructure projects that have been built by the Duterte administration and being followed through and enhanced by the Marcos Jr. administration,” said Lamentillo.

The book is a collection of articles written by Lamentillo about the accomplishments of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s Build, Build, Build (BBB) program, as well as the reforms that were introduced and implemented by then Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar.

Between 2016 and 2021, BBB completed 29,264 kilometers of roads; 5,950 bridges; 11,340 flood mitigation structures; 222 evacuation centers; 150,149 classrooms; 214 airport projects; and 451 seaport projects.

Also included in the book is a chapter on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Build Better More thrust, that builds on the gains of BBB program while incorporating a strong digital infrastructure program to ensure that all Filipinos will have access to affordable and reliable internet.

“Night Owl: Edisyong Filipino” was authored by Lamentillo, edited by AA Patawaran and Richard de Leon, and published by the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation.
